Christopher Peter Meloni, an American actor, is most well-known for his character on the television show 'Law & Order Special Victims Unit. His interest in acting began in his early college days. He completed his acting studies at University of Colorado at Boulder. Although he's been active in both films and television, but it was his character on the small screen that earned him a cult fan following. It is no surprise that he has been able grab audiences' attention by playing characters that are either one side of the legal system. He played the part of a serial killer in the first TV series he appeared in but later went on to play the role that of a NYPD detective. Because of his appearances on smaller screens, he has received numerous nominations for the prestigious Emmy Awards as well as PRISM Awards. His signature eyelashes that are piercing and blue, which are said to make him look handsome. They have helped to convey rough characters in a charismatic manner. He was named as one of People's Magazine's Sexiest Men Alive in 2006.
